Frequently asked questions

I've received a new First Card - how do I activate it?

You can activate your card through First Card app, instructions can be found here.

Why do you collect so much information when I apply for a First Card?

According to EU rules and directives banks and card issuers are obliged to obtain sufficient information to prevent money laundering. Legislative demands have increased on banks knowing their customers (KYC) including individuals, which means we need to ask more questions than before. Therefore it is important to provide sufficient information when you apply.

What type of card is First Card and how does that affect my credit score?

First Card is a charge card, meaning there is no credit connected to the card as such. Instead, the First Card invoice has to be paid in full each month. For companies applying the credit check will be performed on the company, for private liability cards it is the prospective cardholder who will be checked according to current rules and regulations.

How do I block my card?

In Finland and Sweden, you can block your card temporarily in the First Card app. To permanently block your card you can call our customer support 24/7. You can find the card blocking numbers below in the grey column in the middle.

How do I terminate my card?

For cards with corporate liability the company needs to contact us through First Card app, My Card Online or through customer support (contact details can be found further down in this page in the grey column to the left). For private liability cards it is the cardholder who needs to contact us.

An employee at our company has left - what do we do with his or her First Card?

For cards with corporate liability the company's contact person needs to contact our customer support (contact details can be found further down in this page in the grey column to the left). For private liability cards it is the cardholder who needs to contact us.

How do I transfer cardholders between different customer numbers, cost centres or departments?

Please call us (local customer support numbers can be found further down on this page in the grey column to the left): keep the card number and social security number (SSN) at hand.
