Cardholders without Danish Social Security Number

How do I pay online without NemID?

A new requirement is introduced in Europe end of 2020, that all online payments (with certain exceptions) must be confirmed by the buyer with strong customer authentication which is NemID.

If you don´t have the possibility to get NemID, it is possible to create access with the alternative SMS solution. When paying, you can select "SMS password" under the NemID image. Here you have to confirm the purchase with a SMS code + a new, personal code.

Cardholders without a Danish CPR-number will receive a personal code via secure email - if you haven’t received a personal code, First Card customer service can be contacted on +45 70 20 63 09.

I am not a Danish citizen - can I get NemID?

You do not need to be a Danish national to obtain NemID, but you must have a CPR-number (SSN) and valid ID.

To obtain NemID you can go to a citizen service centre, you can request NemID in your bank, or you can request NemID online at nemid.dk. To request NemID online you need a Danish driving licence or a Danish passport.
