How do I get started with Google Pay?
Google Pay is just minutes away. You can enroll through Google Pay or Nordea Wallet in all of your Android devices running Android Lollipop 5.0 or above which also supports NFC (contactless payments).
How to get started with Google Pay through Nordea Wallet
Nordea Wallet is a mobile wallet application where you can see all of your Nordea payment and credit cards and follow your consumption in real time. In Nordea Wallet you can easily get a transparent overview of your monthly expenditure, find card purchases and search by purchase outlets. You can also add your First Card to Google Pay through Nordea Wallet:
- Add your card in Google Pay through Nordea Wallet (check your local Google Play Store for the latest version)
- Open Nordea Wallet app
- Choose your card and click ”Add to Google Pay”
- Follow registration steps and your card details are added
- Accept the terms & conditions
- Download Google Pay app from Google Play
How to get started with Google Pay through Google Pay
Add your card in Google Pay through Google Pay:
- Download Google Pay from Google Play an open it
- Click “+ Payment method” button on the payment –tab and just follow the instructions
- Accept Terms & Conditions
- Confirm registration in the Nordea Wallet app (check your local Google Play Store for the latest version)

When you use your phone to pay in stores, Google Pay doesn’t send your actual credit or debit card number with your payment. Instead, a virtual account number is used to represent your information – so your card details stay safe.
How do I pay with Google Pay?
In-stores with your smartphone
Google Pay works on your Android device anywhere where contactless payments are accepted.
For low value payments you just need to hold your device near the payment terminal. When making high value payments unlock your device and hold it close to the terminal. You don’t even need to open the app.
Speed through checkout online
With Google Pay in your mobile device, you can pay with a few quick clicks in apps and on the web. Just follow the payment process – and that’s it. No need to enter your payment info.
How does mobile payments differ from traditional NFC (contactless) payments?
You can also pay purchases exceeding (Norway: NOK 200,- Finland: EUR 50, Sweden: SEK 200, Denmark: DKK 350,-) Just unlock your phone and hold it close to the contactless payment terminal. No need to verify each payment separately as long as the phone is unlocked.
How do I know that the payment was successful?
The payment terminal lets you know when your payment has been accepted. In online payments, the payment process is finished when you see the notification of an accepted payment.
Where and when is the payment executed?
Your payments are charged similarly as when paying with your card.
Can I use Google Pay with my rooted Android device?
Unfortunately, Google Pay won’t work on a rooted device.
